About Me

My name is Katie Schervish.  I was born in Indianapolis, but grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland.  I very much enjoyed growing up near Washington, DC.  I went through the International Baccalaureate Program at Richard Montgomery High School.  I went to Boston College for my undergraduate studies.  I majored in Elementary Education and Human Development and had a great time in Boston.  I spent a semester studying in Galway, Ireland, and a great summer traveling around Europe with my sister.

After graduating, I completed a year of volunteer work with the Colorado Vincentian Volunteers in Denver, CO.  I worked full time at a school for children with emotional and behavioral disorders.  It was an amazing learning experience, as was living with 12 other people in one house!

I moved to Louisville in 2004 to continue school.  I graduated Spalding University in 2006 with a Masters in Education.  I have been working in the Catholic school system since I moved to Louisville and have spent the last five years teaching fifth grade at St. Nicholas Academy.  This past January, I started a program at Bellarmine University to get my certification in Special Needs.

In September, I will be getting married, so look for email from Katie Jordan starting in October!!

I currently live in the Highlands, only a few minutes from my parents.  I have one sister who lives with her husband in Silver Spring, MD, not too far from where we grew up.
