First letter!

We received our first letter from our friends in Nicaragua today.  It came in Spanish and we worked together (Ms. Schervish mostly) to translate into English.  How much can you understand?

How time flies!

I can hardly believe we are half way through October!  The last few weeks have been very busy with Parent/Teacher/Student conferences and a long fall break.  We are now settling back into the routine of school with some fun additional projects.

This week, we are starting our penpal project with a group of fifth grade students in Nicaragua.  We will be writing a letter as a class, introducing ourselves, first.  Then groups of students at SNA will write to an individual student in Nicaragua to get to know more about school and life in another country.

I can't wait to read the first letters and start this advenure!

In other news, our class won the Spirit of St. Nicholas at the pep rally yesterday.  So now we have a real spirit to fill in Casper's chair in the room!
